December President Message

Dear Members, 
I am pleased to announce that the Tentative Agreement (TA) passed with 85.6% of membership voting to approve the TA.  Not only am I happy that we have successfully completed bargaining for the 2021-2022 negotiations cycle, but I am also delighted that  more members demonstrated their right to vote than in years before.  Thank you members for voting and letting your voice be heard.  The board will be approving the TA at the December 14th board meeting.  
IFT Grants for Educators
Don’t miss this opportunity to apply for these grants.  There are both Educator Grants for $5,000 and Impact Grants for $20,000.  We’ve had two VTA members receive grants.  Reagan Duncan and Traves O'Neill for programs they have implemented at their school sites.  Great Job!  
Application submissions will be accepted from December 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year.

Thankful Thursday
Please come out to Wildwood Restaurant this Thursday December 16th from 3:30-5:30 pm.  This is a great way to meet fellow members from other sites.  We hope to see you there!
February Hike  
In February we will be planning a family friendly hike.  Date and place TBD.  
Reflecting back on this year of challenges and rewards, I can help but be proud of our association and how it has grown in strength and unity.  That is because of your voice and participation.  Thank you for allowing me to represent the members of our local 1088.  I wish you a merry Winter Break.  I hope it is filled with love and joy.
