What is VTA?
The Vista Teachers Association, or VTA, is Vista's teacher's union for the elementary, middle and high schools in the Vista Unified School District. It is made up and governed by educators, just like you. We seek to secure the best possible teaching and learning conditions for our educators through interest-based bargaining with the district.
What does it mean to be a member?
Being a member means that you have the right to vote on negotiated changes to our contract, which frequently include salary and benefits. You also have access to a host of discounts including theme parks, home, car, life, and disability insurance through CTA, free legal representation on work related issues and a free half hour legal consultation for personal issues. See here
I'm a member, but I don't want my money to go to CTA's political agenda. What can I do?
CTA uses approximately 15% of their portion of your dues for political purposes. If you do not want any of your money to go to the CTA political agenda, you can fill out a form which will ensure your money goes into the CTA General Fund, which pays for trainings, conferences, bills, bargaining, and other employment matters.
