Message for parents and the community:
These are talking points for parents and should not be discussed during contract time.
Avoid conversations with students
1. If the school Board’s actions stand, the education of district students will be greatly diminished.
a. Excessive class sizes
b. Teacher access with individual students will be reduced or eliminated
c. If teachers need to get a second job they will no longer be able to:
i. Offer before and after school tutoring
ii. No coaching
iii. No clubs
iv. No special events
v. No enrichment events(camps, field trips. etc)
d. Teachers care about each child’s education, the district cares about extremely expensive programs and projects
e. The district calls for cuts that directly affect the classroom—by continuing to fund excessive programs
f. Potential loss of quality teachers
g. Harming school culture
i. Involuntary transfers of teachers (lack of continuity for your child’s instruction)
ii. Eliminate site based decision making(no parent, teacher voice on school leadership committees)
iii. Guaranteed Parental participation in school based self-government ends
