Thursday night, May 12, 2011, the President of CTA, David Sanchez, and 27 other members, including VTA President Barbara Franklin, were arrested in the Sacramento Capitol building. They chose to stage this act of civil disobedience to protest the spending cuts to education. After a long week spent lobbying the State Senators and Assembly members, they knew they needed to push harder and let their actions speak to the issue.
